Artist's Statement
A circle is delightfully simple. It travels a set, even path and hugs whatever’s inside it. The simplicity of a circle inspires me to create a similar clarity in my paintings. I use a limited palette and repeated organic shapes to build soothing patterns of texture and hue. Although these shapes fill up the canvas, their simplicity keeps the piece from becoming visually overwhelming. Together, they create subtle motion akin to TV static, but softer—a pleasant hum. At a large scale, these works become their own accessible spaces. I want viewers to feel as though they could walk into these paintings and be in a calm, even, and peaceful place.
