Bible Monotypes

ON DISPLAY
September 2, 2011 – October 28, 2011

LOCATION
Auditorium Gallery, level 1

These three works were part of the joint exhibition “Bible Monotypes“, by Utah artists Brian Kershisnik, Andrew Ballstaedt, and Fidalis Buehler in the Lee Library, 2011. All three artists studied art at BYU and worked together every Friday during the Summer of 2011 to create this body of work. Their unique interpretation “acknowledges the incredible debt all Western art has to the great religions, specifically Christian. The miracle of ancient scripture is that each generation is obligated to extract the doctrines of our relationship to God for themselves and from the books. It has to be a mixture of their own revelation, social influences, intuition, prejudice, and virtue.” Their personal interpretations beautifully come together in a common medium.
