Title:
Cancer: A Portrait of Survival
On Display:
November 1, 2001 – November 30, 2001
Location
Auditorium Gallery, level 1
Ever since my mother’s bout with cancer, I have wanted to do a project like this. Thank you to the Office of Research and Creative Activities (ORCA) grant committee for their support in the creation of this body of work. The enduring strength of human character is so solid, however we seldom give it enough credit. This show is about the strength of survival. I am grateful to all those who participated. I learned so much from each individual. This show is about them, and their strengths. However, it is dedicated to those who have won the fight against cancer in another way. Until we meet again, friends.
Thankful

Cancer. The word doesn’t scare me anymore. It has taught me many lessons which I would not have been able to learn had I not experienced it. It has become a part of me, and who I am. I live each day thankful for each breath God gives me.
