This exhibition is co-curated by Mara García, professor of Latin American Literature in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese, and by Matthew J.K. Hill, the Latin American and Iberian Area Studies Librarian at the Harold B. Lee Library. It presents a chronology of Peruvian poet César Vallejo’s life and work accompanied by photographs, framed drawings and paintings, books, and other objects, with highlights from his poetic work. There are also materials that show the work of the Instituto de Estudios Vallejianos, of which Dr. García is the founder and director of the Utah chapter.

The exhibition is entirely bilingual in order to provide educational opportunities to students in Spanish-language literature and Latin American Studies courses at BYU and other universities along the Wasatch front, as well as to reach the wider Latino community in the region.
