About This Exhibit

I am truly thankful to live in a region of the United States of America where my local congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has members from diverse backgrounds, cultures and races. After living in this ward family for four years, I felt compelled to take portraits of each individual ward member.

I strive to capture both the differences, and the sameness, of God’s children in my images. We come from across the globe; we meet in Gurnee. We share truth, light and covenants with one another. We share God, a global God, who loves all of His children. We are all unique; no two are alike. Yet, we all belong to God and He knows each of us, as individuals.

The Savior left the ninety-nine to find the one, which teaches us each one matters to Him. Through my portraits I hope to help others truly SEE each individual, as God sees them. For when we see others as He does, we can't help but love them. The Savior also asks us to come unto him as one unified body in Christ. We reach vertically to have an individual relationship with God and horizontally to love others as he would have us.
