Artists' Statement
“A hole can itself have as much shape-meaning as a solid mass.” --Henry Moore
Our show consists of proposals, drawings, diagrams, blueprints, sketches, models, miniatures, maquettes, mock-ups, prototypes. Typically, these forms function as a way to show what could be possible, plans for something bigger and grander. In this sense, they are not the thing but a stand in for the thing. However, we contend, the thing—the proposal, prototype, sketch—is also a thing that has as much meaning as the thing it points to. The renderings shown are simultaneously a proposal and a thing unto themselves.
